Our benefits system, which is loved and called “merci box” by our employees, was introduced in February 2016 in order to provide an environment where members can Go Bold to the fullest and give 100% both inside and outside of the office. Mercari’s Global Operations Team provides translation and interpretation support to ensure smooth communication between members of all different nationalities and cultures. To help members of all different nationalities and cultures communicate easily, Mercari’s Language Education Team provides language study programs and original tests to match the level of each member. (Contributions paid from employee incentives are also eligible for 25% fund matching.) Note: As of August 2021 Language Language learning support Our employees are therefore able to purchase additional stock equivalent to the amount of the matched funds. The company matches (subsidizes) 25% of the funds that employees pay into the program. Mercari members have access to free vending machines located throughout the office. We encourage employees to pursue other work as they’d like: writing books, speaking at events, angel investing, consulting, etc. We also provide the latest smartphones and tablets as necessary so you can perform at your best. Mercari provides employees in engineering positions with the latest macOS laptop in whatever specs you’d like, and employees in non-engineering positions with the latest high-spec PCs. We provide 3 additional days of leave that can be used any time during the year – not just summer or winter. Our employees can take sick leave not only to recover from an illness or injury, but also to care for cherished family members (spouse or partner, child, parent, grandparent, sibling, or pet) who support our employees on a daily basis. Mercari grants up to 10 days a year for sick leave, which is separate from paid holidays. * Mercari has introduced a work style policy called “ Your Choice.” Each member is free to choose whether they want to work in the office or work fully remote.
